Honorary member No. 8 (2001) - Ragnar Tønder

There are many similarities between the sea eagle and this year's candidate for honorary membership of the Sea Eagle Club:

"Like the sea eagle he has put all his energy and soul into achieving the best possible conditions for prosperity and development, not least when it comes to trade and industry.

Like the sea eagle he is a fantastic ambassador for Bodø. The prosperity of Bodø as a fisheries port is something that both industry and the sea eagle greatly appreciate. Freshly caught herring is a really tasty treat for sea eagles, and this year's candidate has made a considerable contribution towards this end.

Through his frequent initiatives, he has also put Bodø on the map as a marina for visiting boats and as the region's main port, and together with his crew he offers service that is greatly appreciated by all.

From his office window on the quayside, he observes the sea eagle daily through his binoculars, feeling both affiliation with, and responsibility for, his exclusive neighbours.

On these grounds the Board of the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø unanimously recommends that

RAGNAR TØNDER be appointed honorary member No. 8 of the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø.
