Honorary member No. 10 (2003) - Halvdan Sivertsen

The following can be said about this year's candidate:

"In spite of many tempting offers over the years, he has chosen to stay at home in his little nest. In words and music he has praised North Norwegian nature and culture, and passed on qualities that the rest of us might not always have been aware of in our busy daily lives.

Few, if any, have managed to put Bodø on the map in the way he has, by just being himself: a cheerful lad with a twinkle in his eye. He is also able to deal with the delicate balance between jest and seriousness in a way that has gradually brought him immense popularity all over the country. The fact that he is currently enjoying considerable success in the south, can only be seen as further proof of this.

At the same time, he has actively contributed towards preserving significant parts of our coastal culture that would otherwise have been lost to posterity."

On these grounds the Board of the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø unanimously recommends that

HALVDAN SIVERTSEN be appointed honorary member No. 10 of the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø.
