Honorary member No. 13 (2006) - Stella Polaris

The following may be said of this year's candidate:

"Like the sea eagle, they have shown both endurance and patience in the fulfilment of their goals. Over the past 15 years, they have made innumerable trips with members of the press, representatives from travel organisations, business people, tourists and Bodø's inhabitants to show them the realm of the sea eagle at close quarters. They do so with respect for, and understanding of the sea eagles' demands on good relations between neighbours:

"Close, but not too close."

They are always there when we need their assistance, and we know that they take good care of our guests, sending the great majority of them home with fond memories of Bodø.  During the past couple of years, their product has also been one of the most popular excursions offered to passengers on board the Coastal Voyage vessels (Hurtigruten).

Their trade mark is high-speed ribbed inflatable boats and colourful survival suits filled with wide-eyed passengers who, with a mixture of fear and delight are given the adventure of a lifetime in Bodø, the premier city of sea eagles."

On these grounds the Board of the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø unanimously recommends that

STELLA POLARIS c/o Knut Westvig and Torbjørn Engen be appointed honorary member No. 13 of the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø.
